Indo-American gay couples are choosing new and unique programs to start a new life out of tradition. The BBC has presented such a report.
Sapna Pandey
Although no woman was seen in the role of a priest in Hinduism, Swapna did not follow it. He himself has become a priest. On the other hand, his wife Seher is a Pakistani Muslim woman. What are you wondering? Then listen to what Sapna herself is saying-
''I was uncomfortable approaching the priest at the temple.
Similarly, Seher also did not want to go to the mosque and talk about marriage with any Imam. So, we decided to marry ourselves.''
He added that after their marriage, they are now conducting wedding ceremonies for other Indo-American gays ( homesexuals). Seeing them, many homosexuals are now conducting wedding ceremonies according to the customs of different religions.
Elsewhere, North Carolina residents Samir Samudra and Amit Gokhale decided to get married. But in doing so, the gay couple had a big problem. At that time the priest could not find a place to perform the marriage ceremony according to the Hindu custom. The priests were no longer willing to listen to homosexuals.
Sameer said, "We wanted to get married according to Hindu customs. But most scholars said no. Only homosexuals say that a scholar has demanded money which is unimaginable.
He also said that even though same-sex marriage was legalized in the United States in 2015, arranging such marriages in the Indian style is a difficult task. This situation has arisen due to the inability to see the marriage of a homosexual couple at a glance with the conventional marriage of a Hindu.
More than 300,000 same-sex couples in the United States have tied the knot since same-sex marriage was legalized. However, Indo-American homosexuals claim that they have faced many obstacles in getting married in accordance with their religion.
