Minority torture is increasing every day in Bangladesh, this time in Rajshahi, the father who was attacked for protesting the harassment of a Hindu college girl is still walking around with a bandage on his head, hoping to file a case at the police station. But the police did not take the case even in the last 6 days.
His daughter is studying in Class XII in Rajshahi Mahila College. On the way to and from the college, he was often harassed by the miscreants of the area. Ruhul Amin, the vice-president of the Mahanagar Chhatra League, is the mastermind behind the abusers.
On the morning of August 12, when he protested, around 7:30 in the evening, 8 to 10 people including Ruhul Amin went to Rajshahi University Station and attacked his business. During this time he was stabbed and beaten with a hammer. After being taken to the hospital, he received 12 stitches on his head.
He held a press conference after visiting three police stations but was unable to file a case. Today Wednesday 17.0822 at noon held a press conference at the Rajshahi Journalist Union office.
The victim has been named Nil Madhav Saha. The house is in the Meherchandi area of Rajshahi city. He said in the press conference that his daughter is a 12th-class student of Rajshahi Mahila College. He was being harassed by the miscreants of the area while traveling to the college. Neil Madhav Saha protested this on the morning of August 12. The next day at 7:30 in the evening, the miscreants went to Rajshahi University Station and attacked Nil Madhav Sahar's parlor. During this time he was stabbed and beaten with a hammer. He received 12 stitches on his head when he was taken to the hospital.
The victim's father went to Motihar police station in Rajshahi to file a case. But Motihar Thana-Police did not take the case and said that the area falls under Railway Police Station. So he went to the railway station. But the case was not taken even there. He was forced to go to Chandrima police station to file a case. But his case was not taken there either. He alleged that the case was not being taken up because the BCL leader identified himself as the accused scoundrel.
When asked about the non-filing of the case, Motihar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Anwar Ali Tuhin said, "Irrespective of the locality of the victim, the case will be filed in the police station where the incident took place." The incident happened at the railway station, the area of the railway station. In this regard, there will be no case in Motihara, nor in Chandrima. I advised them to go to the railway station. I do not know why the case was not taken there.
